The Windows Time service was stopped successfully. And, blow me down, the damned system clock is STILL WRONG. That did the trick. in hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\w32time\timeproviders\ntpclient replace the SpecailPollTimeRemaining key with the server you want to use.
